Fate of the Dragon

"Fate of the Dragon" is Object Software's most successful game to date and can be fairly described as the game which has put Object Software on the gaming map all over the world.

"Fate of the Dragon" is a real time strategy game for the PC based on the story of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms. At a very early stage of the game's development in July 1999 it was licensed to Eidos (the famous publisher of "Tomb Raider" and "Commandos") for release worldwide except Mainland China. As a result of that and of Object Software's reputation as the leading game developer in Mainland China there was enormous interest in "Fate of the Dragon" throughout its development. When "Fate of the Dragon" was released on Mainland China market in December 2000, it instantly became the best selling game in the nation. The game was also included in the "Top Ten Home-made Software" award by Federal Software. "Fate of the Dragon" was the only piece of game software to receive that honour in 2000.

More success was to follow with the release of "Fate of the Dragon" in world markets. In the United Kingdom PC Gamer rated the game 86% i.e. "excellent" and labeled it "Game of Distinction". In the United States www.dailyradar.com said: "What we found surprised the hell out of us. Fate of the Dragon is looking like a pretty damn good game with a ton of new features and excellent gameplay." In Japan "Fate of the Dragon" became the best selling PC game there immediately on its release at the end of April 2001.

Metal Knight

After the completion of "Sport Pinball" Object Software determined to develop its own titles with the aim of releasing these titles itself on the Chinese Mainland market and licensing the titles for sale worldwide. "Metal Knight" was the first game Object Software developed which it owned itself.

"Metal Knight" was a Command & Conquer style real time strategy game with robots. Its principal feature was that the robots could be built by the players themselves and when the game was first released in the spring of 1998 this was a unique feature. "Metal Knight" was an instant success on the Chinese Mainland market. It was warmly received by game magazines and became the only China developed game to rank for several months in the Top 5 of the Top Ten of PopSoft, the leading PC gaming magazine in Mainland China.

Later in 1998 "Metal Knight" was licensed for sale in Taiwan and Hong Kong and was ranked by "Game World" in Taiwan as a 4 star game. In 1999, Metal Knight was released on the U.S. market by Global Village, Inc.
